Only 2 weeks to go

Until I shave my head completely on Saturday 14th June.
I am going to my hairdresser for a professional finish but will pop into the shop afterwards
(about 2.30-3pm).

If you live in the Bedford area you should see an article about me in the Times & Citizen newspaper soon.

I have almost reached £500 in donations so thank you very much to everyone who has donated.
I would really like to reach £1000
so if you would like to donate please visit:

On that same day Lesley will be here in the store running a charity sale of all her own crafting goodies plus she will also be demonstrating with some of her favourite stamps.

Fathers Day

We've been so busy working on new designs I forgot to blog this week - sorry.
Vicky made this card using our Skull set and has stamped on the Stix 2 kraft tape.
Everything stamped in black so very quick and easy to make, just in case you forget until the day before!

Christmas Cardmaking Weekend

I know you probably don't want to be thinking about Christmas cards yet, but let us worry about that for you.  September 20-21 is our first Christmas Cardmaking weekend this year.  If you join us for this weekend you will make at least 15 Christmas cards over the 2 days which should jump start your festive creativity.

The cost of the 2 days is £100, we provide all materials necessary and all food and drink.  We only ask that you bring your favourite tools like scissors and tweezers and a small paper trimmer.

We work in groups of a maximum of 6 per tutor and the tutors move around the room so you can stay in the same seat for the weekend.

You can call us to book your space (£50 deposit) or book via our website here.  Spaces are limited.

Demo Day Flowers

Chris McMillan was with us for Demonstration Day and she was playing with some of Lesley's stamp like these Doodle Flowers.
Plus we gave Chris some of our Kraft tape to stamp on too.
Sometimes less is soooo much more.

Chris - thank you for spending the day with us, it was so much fun.

Summertime - Sunshine

My photography skills seem to be diminishing over time.
Vicky coloured both these cards with Pastel Chalk Pencils but coupled with my photography they now appear to have a fluorescent glow about them!
Notice the shading with the white pencil to lift them off the page.
Vicky added the patterns onto the bunting using a Millenium pen.

Get Well Soon

Do you know someone that has had an accident?
This bandaged man also doubles up as our Halloween Mummy, especially if you give him green eyes.
I would laugh if someone gave it to me but then I know I am not 'normal' - I am after all going to shave off all my hair for charity!

Spring Blossoms

Just like our project club card but in different colours this time.
The blossoms have been coloured with Distress inks.

Project Club - May

This is the card we made in our Project Club this month.
Using our Spring Branch stamp set designed by Lesley Crawford.
Stamped over the tree is our Grunge Background in Tattered Rose.
The flowers from Lesley's Happy Flowers, were stamped onto glossy card that had been coloured with alcohol inks.
The grunge onto the pink is stamped in the new Silver Delicata inkpad.
Mustn't forget the Banner and Greetings too.

Almost fabric

I love the way Kerry has used Vicky's Borders on this card to make it look like a piece of fabric.
Plus she has used Doodle Flowers 2 and Lesley's Happy Flowers.

Ingenious!

Embossed Tree

Denyse has embossed the Spring Branch tree but it is not a completely smooth finish.
I am guessing she has stamped with something like Archival Potting Soil and then used clear embossing powder.  Archival is not designed for embossing so you don't always get a smooth finish.  This is perfect for the trunk of a tree.
The background is our large Grunge Background stamp.

Spring Branch

3 cards from Brenda using our Spring Branch Stamp Set, with some Floral Fancy, Lesley's Happy Flowers and Dream also included.
Liquid Pearls on the Floral Fancy stamps gives them the look of blossoms or berries.
I love the suns rays in this one.
All made using a lovely earthy palette of colours.

Dove Mosaics

Brenda made these cards using our Doves stamp.
After stamping and colouring or colouring card and then stamping, she then cut up the image into tiles for this fabulous effect.

Wednesday 7 May 2014

Happy Flowers

Kerry made this card using Lesley's Happy Flowers and Swirly Trees.
She has embossed in white and then painted with Mica powders.

Sentiment from our Sentiment Circles Small unmounted rubber stamp set.

Remember when working with unmounted rubber you can either mount on to static cling cushion so they are easily placed and removed from acrylic blocks or you can use a glue stick onto your acrylic block to hold the rubber and then just wipe off with a wet cloth afterwards.

Vicky's Borders

I love what DT member Kerry has done with Vicky's Borders stamp set.
She has also used Lesley's Happy Flowers set in both these cards.

I do have to tell you that the Orange card is a very big one but wow, isn't it fabulous.

Kerry has coloured with PanPastels and then used an eraser to remove colour.

If you are too shy to share you can just take inspiration from and admire work by your fellow stampers.

We hope you can join us here.

We have chosen to make this a closed group so your artwork is not available for everyone on the internet to see just a small select group of people.  We hope this will make more people feel comfortable in sharing as we would love to see what you make with our stamps

Exploding Grunge Flowers

As you can see Denyse has been playing with some of our larger Grunge Flowers.
Exploding out of a box and popping out of a card.

Bright and colourful, just as flowers should be - grunge or otherwise.
