Panelled Door

Here Brenda has cut out the panels in our Front Door and replaced with acetate and snow.
Can you spot what she has done with the Door Knocker stamp - she has used it as lights - ingenius!

Working on new stamps

Vicky and I have been working on some new stamps for the past few weeks, some of them for our TV show on 28th October and others just because we liked them. We have got ourselves an artist which makes things a lot easier because although Vicky can draw a bit, I cannot draw for toffee and we have so many ideas we want to turn into stamps. We are always on the look out for new artists that can make our ideas come to life.

Anyone joining us on one of our Christmas Cardmaking Weekends in October will get to use one of these new stamps (see its already versatile because it can do Christmas and non Christmas). Plus we'll be sneaking some of the other new designs into the shop as and when they are in production so make sure you have a good look around the shop next time you are in.

Brand New Christmas Stamp

This is our last new Christmas stamp of the year (I hope!). This is the Bethlehem Unmounted stamp set.

Vicky made the top card by embossing in black onto laminating sheet and then apply gold leaf to the back.

The bottom card was made by Lesley stamping the image over an alcohol ink background.

Blue Village

One blue dye based inkpad, the stamps, a waterbrush and a Millenium pen is all you need to create this card - but I would also recommend the glitter as it does add that little something.
Lesley created this card using our Snowy Village, she hand drew the border with a Millenium pen.

Grey Skies

I created this card by first applying Distress ink Weathered wood direct to the glossy card for really good coverage, I then blended with the blending applicator to eradicate any lines.
For the next step I stamped the moon in a different blue distress inkpad and used Dottiness to create the other lines and dots around the edges. The sentiment is from the Mini Snow Village set.
I then stamped and embossed the tree from the Partridge & Pear set with Versamark and White Diamond embossing powder.
The image is layered on mulberry paper.

Gold Leaf Twas

This card has been generating a huge amount of interest and yet it is so easy to make.
To create this card Vicky first covered the Laminating sheet with anti-static and then stamped Twas the night using Versamark. She then embossed with Black Detail embossing powder.
Vicky then peeled the backing off the laminating sheet and applied a sheet of variegated blue leaf art metal. She then pressed firmly to make sure the leaf was stuck down and then pulled away all the excess.
We keep the left over leafing in a plastic box to use as gilding flakes - you don't need to waste a flake!

Resist Technique

Using a Versamark inkpad Vicky stamped the Snowy Village and the Mini Snowy Village as well as some Dottiness onto white glossy card. When dry she then applied Distress inks over the top. Buffed up with a tissue the Versamark then shines through.

Peeking Polar Bear

This is a card Vicky made during one of our TV shows. She cut the aperture in the creased card and then stamped the Icicles onto the acetate, placed it behind the aperture and then the stamped image of the Polar Bear went behind the acetate.
All stamps used are from our Polar Bear set.

Anne created this card using our Partridge and Pear Tree set also with our Dottiness in the background. I love the pear paper she has used.

In this card Esther has used the large dots from our Dots and Stars set in the background (Vintage Photo). The main image is 4 of the elements from our Front Door stamp set.

Purple Christmas Door

I think this is my favourite card that I am making today, probably because its in purple. I used the Front Door set.
I stamped the door onto white card using Memento black ink, I then stamped and embossed the door onto purple pearlescent card in black. I colour the white card using Flexmarkers.
I stamped the wreath and topiary onto white card in black Memento and coloured with Flexmarkers and Promarkers.
The purple background paper is a lovely flocked paper from Hot Off The Press.

Hope you enjoy our shows today.

Singing Penguins

Linda has created this lovely (now I looked up what a group of penguins is called and there are various names, all a little strange, so I am going to call them a choir) choir of penguins - they could be singing! To create a group like this you need to start with your most prominent image i.e. the penguins in the front row, stamp them first and create masks with Eclipse Masking tape. Mask over your front row and then stamp the penguins behind, repeat until you have the desired number of penguins.
Linda created this card using the images from our Playful Penguins set.
