Clear Shrink Butterfly

Another card I made during Monday's Craft Clinic (I did get at least 8 cards made during the show, which I think has to be a record for us).
I stamped our Butterfly in Black Stazon onto Clear shrink plastic.
I then coloured with Promarkers on the opposite side to the stamped image - remember Stazon and Promarkers do not work together.
When colouring on shrink or acetate you need to choose quite strong colours of Promarkers.
For the card I stamped our Etched Flourish in a green Distress ink and then the small butterfly (that comes with the large one) in Dusty Concord.
I used the purple promarker from my butterfly to colour my white ribbon, before attaching to the card.
And if you saw the show you will now that I dabbed the butterfly with an anti-static bag to ensure that it did not stick together (unlike my ruler!).

Intaglio Shrink Plastic

This is one of the cards I made in the Craft Clinic on Create & Craft.
Using white shrink plastic I heated torn pieces and then stamped into the warm shrink with our Etched Flourish stamp.
I then coloured the shrunk pieces with a mixture of Diamond Glaze and Distress Ink.
Both background layers were also created with the same stamp.
The first layer is stamped and embossed in white and then sponged with the same Distress ink (buff to remove ink from embossed areas)
The creased card is the Etched Flourish stamped in the same Distress inkpad.
The shrink plastic is stuck on JudiKins Mosaic Tape and then covered with silver Micro Glass Beads.

I coloured her with Promarkers and added red glitter to her wings and shoes.

Stamping in Holland

Julie and I have just spent a weekend in Holland at the ArtSpecially stamping show in Zeist.  Our neighbour was Michael Strong from San Diego, California.  I met Mike several years ago and have attended one of his workshops, he is super clever with his stamps and a very funny man so if you ever get a chance you should join one of his make & takes or workshops.

Because we could drive to Holland we decided to only take things that would go in the boot of my car, so we tried the table top style stand, which was a little longer than I expected (about 8m).

Just before we arrived at the venue the SatNav decided to take us down a residential road, where there were gorgeous big houses and one of them had a thatched roof, which apparently is very rare in Holland.  Anyway at the show 2 of our biggest sellers were our Thatched House and Thatched Cottage along with our You're not old Turtle and Gorillas.

The weather was glorious while we were there but there was not one tulip to be seen anywhere as the weather has been too cold there too.

We had great fun at the show and are hoping we can go back next year.

Lesley coloured this card using Distress Markers and a waterbrush.

Kiss Stamping

What, you might ask, is kiss stamping?
It is where you have a solid design stamp but before stamping onto the card
you apply a patterned stamp directly onto the solid stamp and then onto the card.
So then you get the solid image but with a pattern inside it.
Did I confuse you?

Lesley made this card using our Courting Couples set and Flowers & Leaves background stamp.

Off to Holland

On Friday Julie and I will be travelling to Zeist in Holland for the Art Specially stamping show at the weekend.  This is our first International stamp show so we are very excited, we will be travelling through 4 countries in 1 day!

Don't know if they have a particular style in Zeist or if they are as eclectic as we are - we will soon find out.

If you know anyone near Zeist please let them know about the show, details are on Facebook or our website.
