Kay Carley

Kay Carley is with us for the weekend. Yesterday Kay was due to arrive at the store before 2pm but due to a faulty car battery she managed to arrive at 3pm just in time for the class to start. She had no time to recover from her arduous journey as the students were seated, waiting and raring to go. As is normal when Kay comes to visit us the class ran over by about half an hour. But I think everybody was very pleased with the cards they made.

Several of these students are back again for today's class with Kay. Which again is Shrink Plastic but this time Intaglio style (stamping into shrunk shrink). I will post up pictures of the cards later today.

Also in the store today is Bind It All demo day, so if you have one of these machines and are not quite sure how to use it, pop in and have a look. We've got the new wires in stock in Pink, Blue and Antique Brass.

I'm now counting down the days until we go off to CHA trade show in California - 12 days to go. Hopefully we can bring back lots of lovely products for you and if I am lucky and have internet in the hotel I can post up pictures of goodies at the end of each day.

Valentines Card Video

This is our first attempt and filming so please forgive us the background noise and the hideous backdrop. I promise we will improve for the next one.

In this video I use Heidi Swapp sponge stamps to make a Valentines Card.

Design Team Artwork

I think I may have been a little over ambitious with my previous post regarding A Stamp In The Hand. I have made a start adding the images but there are more than I thought so it is unlikely I will finish them by the end of tomorrow but they will definitely all be there sometime next week.

Today we had 2 lovely members of our design team pop in to the shop to introduce themselves, whilst in the shop they did mention that I had left one member of the DT off our website. I had completely forgotten about this as it was from last November, I was waiting for the stamp images to come through from JudiKins before putting the cards online. I do now have the images so today I added all of Galina's artwork to the website - I hope she will forgive me for taking so long to do it.

We are planning to send our Cardmaking DT more stamps next week so we will have lots more new artwork to show you early February.

What I have also added to our website today is a product we have only just received in stock this week - Style Stix and Berry Makers. These are wonderful tools for colouring with. They have a kind of foam tip which you use to pick up colour and then apply to the card - I know it sounds really basic but they are brilliant to work with. Vicky had a play with these just before Christmas and loved them so much we just had to get them in stock as we know you will love them. Come in store and see them in action.

Artwork from A Stamp In The Hand

I am in the process of adding all these stamps to our website. You should be able to see and order them from Stamp Addicts by the end of this week.

Grungeboard

Happy New Year

I have finally managed to get all the grungeboard on our website, because of the sale we haven't even had chance to play with it yet.

Why is it everybody seems to be suffering with something at the moment? Isn't it horrible! And on top of that it is absolutely freezing outside. But at least we haven't had the snow here in Bedford yet, I know lots of other places haven't been quite so lucky.

On the bright side, Annabel went back to school today. She wasn't terribly keen to go but I am sure Martin was very relieved, even though it means he has to come back to work. And it is really cold in our warehouse.

I think I have a very romantic view of snow. I look forward to getting snow and making snowmen but when the snow actually arrives I had driving in it and only want to make snowmen for approximately 20 minutes, by then my gloves are soaked through and I am too cold.

Last year the snow got so bad the schools were closed so Annabel came to work with us and made a 6ft snowman in the car park. He lasted about a week before finally disappearing. Days like that are quite nice but as long as it has all gone by the time I get up the next morning. Driving through the horrible dirty slush is no fun, everyone drives really slowly and the car get filthy, but you daren't put the window washer on in case it freezes!

Oh well, we will just have to wait and see.

I think I have rambled enough for one evening.
