Happy Christmas
Happy Christmas
I had to share this with you as I think whoever had this idea is a genius.
A life size snow globe. I was desperate to get inside and play too but I wanted to make sure we had lots of photos, so I took the photos.
The snowglobe is in The Centre Milton Keynes until 3rd January - I would highly recommend it as they had great fun, the only downside is that you do keeping finding the 'snow' around the house for several days afterwards.

Six Geese a-laying
On the sixth day of Christmas my true love sent to me Six geese a-laying . . .
This is Doofus Bird, I know she is not a goose but she could be a-laying and we didn't have any geese stamps. I stamped the first Doofus in the middle and then created a mask with Eclipse Tape. Once I had masked the first Doofus I was able to stamp the birds each side, then mask those and repeat.

Five Golden Rings
On the fifth day of Christmas my true love sent to me Five golden rings . . .
For the five golden rings I used the JudiKins Designer Spot cube, stamped five times with Gold Encore inkpad. I stamped his spikes using the Haypile stamp and a selection of other Stamps by Judith for the grass and flowers.

Two Turtle Doves
On the second day of Christmas my true love sent to me Two Turtle Doves
Well we didn't have any turtle doves but we have Turtles and Doves.
The Dove and smallest Turtle are from DeNami and the Turtle holding the stem, the Haypile for grass and the flowers are all from Stamps by Judith.
The whole card has been finished with the Millenium pen lines around the edges.

12 Days of Christmas
On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me a Partridge in a Pear Tree. . .
You know how it goes. You may or may not know Wednesday was our late night shopping event and the mince pies and mulled wine was flowing freely. It was during this evening that Vicky and I came up with the idea to do a slightly alternative 12 days of Christmas selection of cards. Most of them are not Christmas but here is the first which was an easy one to create as we had the JudiKins stamp Partridge in Pear Tree. We soon discovered the others were not as easy but we have managed them all, some quirkier than others. Come back each day to see what we have created.
I created the background with alcohol inks and then stamped and embossed the tree with white embossing powder and coloured the Partridge with a Silver Krylon pen.

Sticky Stuff
Several weeks ago I challenged Lesley to come up with some new artwork using Sticky Stuff embossing powder (the powder that turns to glue when heated). We've used it lots with gold leaf, foil and glitters.
This is one of the cards that Lesley created using VersaMark, Sticky Stuff and Perfect Pearls powders. Now I know you can stamp with VersaMark and then cover with Perfect Pearls but it gives you a very flat finish. Using Sticky Stuff and Perfect Pearls gives you that raised embossed finish so your artwork has more depth.
Have you used something different with Sticky Stuff that you would like to share with us?

Bubble Bath
This card is one I made whilst we were filming the 'All About Mimi' show. The orange background behind Mimi was created by scribbling orange and yellow pens onto the heat sheet, spritz with water and then swoosh the card into the ink. Once dry I scored it with the Scor It at 2cm intervals horizontally and vertically and then rubbed over with a sanding block, this brings back the white colour through the orange. It gives it that tiled bathroom look. Snow White Glitter was added to the edge of the bubbles.
I believe the original idea for this card came from our DT member Wendy - thanks Wendy.

Kay Carley Christmas
I just came across these ATCs that Kay sent me, I don't think I've shared them with you. Kay also has several projects being published in the Craft Stamper soon and they all include Stamps by Judith so make sure you keep an eye out for them as the cards are gorgeous (unfortunately I am not allowed to share them with you yet).

Edinburgh Artwork
Yesterday afternoon we arrived back from Edinburgh. It was a nice show, fairly small but a good atmosphere. Here are some of Vicky's creations from the weekend.
This one is Frazzled Cat stamped and embossed with Sticky Stuff and covered with Gold Leaf, doesn't he look fab! The backgrounds are all Colour Core.
