Mint Chocolate Mica Gloss

I think it was Vicky that made these cards a while ago using Mica Gloss inks.

Don't they look like mint chocolate!

You can put Mica Gloss in a spritzer with water and spray for backgrounds.  

You can stamp with it and onto it and off of it.

You can paint with it.

Mica Gloss is a really versatile product that we love.

Handstamped Pencil Pots

While you are sitting at home munching your way through Christmas,

if you manage to empty any of the small Pringles crisp pots then keep them.

You could decorate them and use as pencil pots.

On these ones Lesley stamped onto kraft card and then glued onto the pots,

alternatively you could cover them with stamped or decorated napkins.

Wishing you a Happy Christmas

At the shows I have travelled to this year this has to be the card I was asked about the most.

Lesley made this card for one of our Christmas Cardmaking Weekends using her 

Winter Wonderland stamp set.

Everything is stamped in Vintage Photo Distress ink onto slightly textured card and then with 

a waterbrush the colour has been moved around a little.

It is as simple as that.

Stamping does not have to be complicated and involve lots of colouring if you don't want it to.

It can be easy and uncomplicated or it can be involved and technical - it is entirely up to you.

Mica Gloss Shadow Boxes

Either myself of Vicky made the Kimono shadow box and Lesley made the one with the JudiKins lady.

The kimono is stamped and embossed in black onto black glossy card, it has then been painted with Mica Gloss - alternatively you can colour a sheet of black glossy with Mica Gloss using a brayer and then when dry stamp and emboss on top.

The outer border is a mosaic of images some stamped with Mica Gloss and others are glossy card brayered with Mica Gloss and then stamped with clean stamp, the clean stamp takes away the Mica Gloss leaving the black image like the fan and lanterns.

Then there are panels of Roxs and Micro Glass Beads in between separated with Paper Cords.

My Bucket

If you popped into the shop on Saturday you would have seen me decorating this bucket.

It started life as a metal yellow bucket from our favourite Swedish store.

After a couple of coats of white paint to dull the yellow and act as a primer I was able to cover it with napkins using a watered down pva mixture.

The pink polka dot background is a printed napkin but it is the second layer of the napkin and not the top layer which is a very bright pink.

The Grunge Flowers, stems and leaves I stamped onto plain white napkins using Stazon (you can use Archival and heat set).

I then tore out the images and applied them on to the bucket using the same pva mixture.

You need to let it dry in between layers.

I did put some glitter glue inside some of the flowers and leaves.

I have yet to apply the top coat of Mod Podge but then it should be ready to put a pot plant in and give as a gift.

Snowflakes

I know it is a little late for Christmas inspiration this year but I wanted to share these with you as I like them so much.

Lesley created these at Stamperama Flitwick in October.

The snowflakes from our 3D Snowflake set have been embossed in white and then the card has been coloured with distress inks for the different colours.

Remember to buff the embossed areas after colouring so the white shines through clearly.

The same technique has been used on Wish Upon A Snowflake.

Purple Flat Book Frame Box

This Flat Book Frame Box has been decorated with acrylic paints, napkins, rub-ons and stamping.

Again I think this was created for us by Lesley.

My son is in his pirate costume for halloween.

Patera Necklace

I believe I used air dry clay for the design inside the Patera.

Black air dry clay rolled onto a Clay Squisher and then I used a heart shaped cookie cutter to get the right shape but you could cut with a knife and then leave to dry.

Once dry I coloured with blue Mica Gloss.

I used a liquid glue inside the Patera like Diamond Glaze or Glossy Accents and then filled in the gap around with micro glass beads.

You could then cover with a glaze or resin to protect it but I have left mine open for texture.

We have patera currently on sale @ 70% off in different shapes, sizes and colours.

Flat Book Frame Box

This Flat Book Frame Box has been covered with a combination of napkins, washi tapes, stamping, stencilling, fancy brads and a cute photo of my little boy.

We've had this sample for a while, I believe Lesley made this.

Flat Book Frame Boxes come in a pack of 2 for £6.90.

Take one Ikea mirror and . . . .

We used the black version of the mirror and then covered with acrylic paint.

The embellishments are made from mini canvases, stamped images behind acrylic,

shrink plastic, Tranz-it, melted embossing powder poured into moulds and a cookie cutter placed over JudiKins Clay Squisher stamps.

Air dry clay used in a mould and then painted with Mica Gloss, stamped Stampbord or EcoArtboard.

The list is endless.

We have been working on lots of new stamps designs to release early next year but we need to make space in our shop so that we have somewhere to hang them.

In Store Inspiration Day

We are also running this day again on Friday 12th and Saturday 13th December.

We have set up in our classroom all the handstamped gifts and decorations that we could find in our archives.  We have lots of handmade jewellery as well as decorations perfect for the Christmas Tree or a mobile plus lots more.

And we are not just offering inspiration and advice we are also offering 70% off all jewellery making products as well as other special offers.

Our room of inspiration is open Friday 10am-3pm and Saturday 10am-4pm.

Direct to paper

Something else you can do with dye inkpads is go direct to paper.

Vicky used the inkpads direct onto the paper to create these vibrant backgrounds and then stamped over the top with an image from our Bethlehem stamp set.

Winter Church

At Stamperama one of the things Vicky was demonstrating was our Winter Church Scene stamped in different coloured dye inks and then given a little wash with a water brush, glitter to finish.

Gingerbread men

This is one of the cards that Lesley was demonstrating at Stamperama on Saturday.

Using our little Gingerbread man with one of the frames from our

Frame Trio stamp set.

In the background Lesley has used our Christmas Text background stamp.

The snowflake is a punch (Martha Stewart, I believe).  And a holly embossing folder.
